Latest update

Dominica submitted its updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) on 4 July 2022. This document covers mitigation and adaptation commitments, as well as key sectors such as energy, agriculture, land use, and waste.

Subsequently, the country submitted its First Biennial Transparency Report (BTR) on 6 January 2026, strengthening accountability and the tracking of its climate action progress under the Paris Agreement.

The main information can be consulted at the following links: Dominica’s 2022 NDC – UNFCCC and BTR.

The additional content of this country profile comes from the review completed in 2016, based on the LEDS LAC report and information from the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

Dominica has a relative target of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 44.7% by 2030, compared to 2014 emission levels, which implies not exceeding 73.5 gigagrams of CO₂.
