Latest update
Saint Lucia submitted its NDC 3.0 on February 6, 2025, updating its 2030 emission-reduction target and establishing a new goal for 2035. The country commits to reducing its greenhouse-gas emissions by 14.7% in the energy and transport sectors by 2030 (relative to 2010 levels) and by 22% by 2035, through the expanded deployment of renewable energy —including solar, wind, and geothermal— improvements in energy efficiency, modernization of the power grid, and increased use of electric vehicles. It also includes a quantified target for the forestry sector, aiming to increase its carbon-sequestration capacity by 33 GgCO₂ by 2035. In terms of adaptation, Saint Lucia has its National Adaptation Plan (NAP), adopted on September 21, 2018, which guides national actions to address climate risks and promote the sustainable management of natural resources.
